The Kaghan Memorial Trust raises funds for ongoing construction work and also for running the School through an
Income Generation Programme (IGP) that includes: soliciting donations from corporate, institutional and individual
donors; the organisation of several fundraising events each year; and a “Sponsor a Child” Programme.
Options for donating to KMT through our IGP are listed as follows:
- Donation for Building Construction
KMT’s Large Donor Programme provides institutions and individuals
with the option of sponsoring the construction and furnishing costs of specific rooms or buildings on the
School campus. This allows the donors to see exactly where their money is being spent, and it also gives KMT
peace of mind in terms of knowing that the construction costs of the sponsored facilities are fully covered. All
sponsored facilities are dedicated to their respective donors in appreciation of their generous support. Sponsorship
options available under this programme are listed below. We request you to kindly consider sponsoring
one or more of these facilities if possible:

KMS operates several programmes at the School
to take care of the well being of its students. Donations are welcomed to help us keep providing these much
needed services for children whose families cannot otherwise afford them:
| a. |
Sponsor the daily meals at the School |
A donation of US$ 3,000 will sponsor the cost of daily
lunches being provided to 280 children for one month |
| b. |
Sponsor the costs of the annual KMS medical camp |
A donation of US$ 5,000 will sponsor the
costs of the School’s next medical camp |
| c. |
Sponsor the costs of providing routine medical care to KMS students |
A donation of US$ 1,000 per
month will sponsor the costs of running the school’s infirmary and of providing routine medical care to
the students and staff |
| d. |
Sponsor the children’s uniforms |
A donation of US$ 5,000 will pay for the uniforms for 140 girls. A
similar amount will pay for the uniforms of 140 boys. The School’s uniforms include winter warmers
(blazers, long and short sleeve sweaters, thermal tops and bottoms, hats, gloves and socks) to help the
children cope with the extreme cold winters in the valley. The children also receive 3 sets of shirts and
trousers and one pair of shoes in each uniform package each year. |
- Child Sponsorship
KMT operates a “Sponsor a Child” Programme to find sponsors for each student
studying at KMS. The idea is to transfer the schooling costs of the children from their parents (who cannot
afford such expenses) to external sponsors who commit to support one or more child(ren) for the duration of
their studies. The sponsorship fee for one child is US$ 500 per year. Child sponsors are sent profiles of their
sponsored children, and these are followed by progress updates each term. Details on this programme are available on our Sponsor a Child page.
- General Donation
Donors may also contribute any amount of their choosing to the Trust as a general
donation. Such donations may be used by the Trust to cover operational or construction expenses at the School
as required.
All donations and offers for assistance, irrespective of their value or nature, are welcome. We depend on the generosity of our
supporters to make the Kaghan Memorial School project a success.
